ACH Refunds in ACE: Enrollment, Rejected Refunds and the New Tab

Valuation3 min read

Executive Summary

Importers who are not enrolled to receive refunds by ACH may experience refund delays or rejections.

The REV-613 report in ACE Reports helps importers identify refunds rejected because ACH enrollment was missing.

Importers can authorize ACH refunds in their ACE Portal account and should notify CBP at frn-achrefundsupport@cbp.dhs.gov after new enrollment.

On October 29, 2026, ACH Refund Authorization moves under a new Financial Transactions tab, and the portal will retrieve available refund data automatically.

ACH refunds in ACE are customs refunds paid through the Automated Clearing House (ACH), and CBP’s ACE Portal update notice moves the authorization function on October 29, 2026. The change affects where importer sub-account users manage ACH refund information and how current data appears. CBP also advises importers to check for refunds rejected because they were not enrolled, using the August 18, 2026 refund notice and the REV-613 report.

Why Does ACH Enrollment Matter for ACE Refunds?

ACH enrollment lets importers receive customs refunds by ACH. CBP warns that importers who are not enrolled to receive refunds this way may continue to experience delays or rejections. Its refund notice directs brokers to help importers identify rejected refunds and directs affected importers to authorize ACH refunds in the ACE Portal.

The notice does not say that enrollment reverses a rejected refund automatically. Treat enrollment as the step to support timely receipt of future refunds, then separately check whether any prior refunds were rejected.

How Do I Find ACE Refunds Rejected for Missing Enrollment?

Use the ACH Rejected Refunds Report, report number REV-613, in the ACE Reports tool to identify refunds rejected because ACH enrollment was missing. CBP says customs brokers can use the report to help importers identify affected refunds. Importers can also run it themselves to determine whether potential refunds were rejected.

Run REV-613. Follow CBP’s Trade Refund Reports reference guide for help running the report. Review the results for refunds identified as rejected due to lack of ACH enrollment, then address enrollment in the ACE Portal. The notice does not describe a separate refund-claim procedure for the report results.

How Do Importers Authorize ACH Refunds in ACE?

Importer sub-account users authorize ACH refunds through the ACE Portal. Before the October 29, 2026 change, the portal has an ACH Refund Authorization tab; CBP says the new sub-tab will continue to let users manage ACH refund information directly from their ACE Portal account.

Open the importer account. Use the ACE Portal to authorize ACH refunds. CBP points users to its ACH Enrollment Overview for detailed enrollment instructions, but the notices do not set out the individual screens or fields.

Notify CBP after new enrollment. The August 18, 2026 notice instructs affected importers to email frn-achrefundsupport@cbp.dhs.gov about the new ACH refund enrollment.

When Does ACH Authorization Move to Financial Transactions?

The ACE Portal change is scheduled for October 29, 2026; until then, CBP describes the existing ACH Refund Authorization tab as the current location.

  • August 18, 2026: CBP issued its notice about checking REV-613 for refunds rejected due to missing ACH enrollment.
  • October 27, 2026: CBP announced the ACE Portal update.
  • October 29, 2026: CBP will make ACH Refund Authorization a sub-tab under the new Financial Transactions header tab.

Starting October 29, 2026, CBP will also remove the Get Info/Refresh button. The portal will automatically retrieve the current ACH refund data available in the system.

What Should Importers Check After the ACE Portal Change?

Check both enrollment status and refund records so a portal navigation change does not obscure an unresolved refund issue.

  • Check enrollment. Confirm that ACH refunds have been authorized in the importer’s ACE Portal account. If enrollment is new, notify CBP at frn-achrefundsupport@cbp.dhs.gov as directed in the refund notice.
  • Check rejected refunds. Run REV-613 in ACE Reports and review any results tied to missing enrollment.
  • Check the new location. From October 29, 2026, look under Financial Transactions for the ACH Refund Authorization sub-tab. Confirm that the displayed data is current without relying on the removed refresh button.

CBP’s notices do not specify how quickly new enrollment takes effect or how an importer obtains a rejected refund after enrolling. Check the report and follow up on any identified refund rather than assuming enrollment alone resolves it.
